Depression
It’s possible to feel like yourself again.
Society tells us that if we don’t have any tangible “reasons” to feel sad, then our sadness is invalid. But depression goes far beyond that. It can cause you to not recognize yourself anymore, and impact your ability to get enjoyment out of most—or all—things you typically found joy in.
Some signs of depression can include:
Feeling down, hopeless, irritable, or numb
Losing enjoyment in activities you once enjoyed
Feeling tired and lacking energy
Changes in your appetite that are out of the ordinary for you
Having trouble concentrating or remembering
Not wanting to wake up in the morning, or thinking about ending your life
My approach
My approach includes mindfulness, grounding, CBT and ACT techniques, and somatic techniques to help you recognize your dark thoughts, find the tools to manage them, and weather this storm. While I value you feeling seen and heard, I also understand the importance of empowering you with the tools you need do you can walk away from your therapy session feeling prepared.
