Anxiety
Anxiety can prevent you from getting the most out of your life.
Racing thoughts, shortness of breath, and fast heart rate can all be signs of anxiety. If we lived 100,000 years ago, these would have helped us run from a predator and stay alert. Now, though, needing to manage these symptoms while taking care of our daily responsibilities can feel like a hinderance more than anything.
Feeling anxious may materialize in the form of:
Feeling like you cannot stop or control your worrying
Panic attacks
Health concerns your doctor cannot explain, like stomach issues
Trying to control what you can’t due to fear of something bad happening
Feeling often “on edge” or unable to rest
Having trouble falling or staying asleep
Avoiding things that make you nervous
My approach
I use a combination of mindfulness, grounding, CBT, and somatic techniques to help you recognize your anxious thoughts and find the tools to manage them. While I value you feeling seen and heard, I also understand the importance of empowering you with the tools you need so you can walk away from your therapy session feeling prepared.
